The History

Guile beckons you towards him. "Come, let me share with you some of my greater knowledge of this area"

Slowly, the old man unfurls a map placing it on the floor before you.

"This is the land Of Terigam. Well, actually this is the world of Terigam as best I know it, there are many other things farther off."

"Firstly, the Stone Altar is located in the center, here. Its location is on the land named Teritha. After the City, or perhaps the city after it." The old man's gnarled hand pointing to the slightly off center island. "The river here, which leads into the Lake Era, is called Vengeance, due to it's turbulent waters which washed out the bridges connecting Port Sarah to the City Teritha on the ocean shore at the river's mouth. Thus the Stone Tavern, where I am now, was created by me. It provides a night's rest for those traveling to Port Sarah, and attracts many other people as well."

"Well.. About the city. Teritha is a very beautiful place. It's main streets are paved. Nearly every type of store imaginable is there. From armory to glass makers, it is a rich place, mainly due to it's isolation from the other areas of the world. This allows it to trade without fear of being attacked by anything but sea and air."

"Port Sarah is a typical Sea port, and although the docks that once connected it to Teritha City remain in their shabby condition, the Port still does well. Most of the Trade to the further lands is done through the port, as the council of Teritha has little time for such matters."

"Oh? I'm sorry I didn't mean to forget to tell you about the Council.. Well, actually there are three stages of councils. One of which is vacant at current. Firstly, there is the council of the City. This is mainly just four elders. One is a mage of extreme power, another a cleric who is exceedingly worshipful and the mayor who tends to decide things for the city, while the other two simply advise him. Then there is the military advisor. I held that post for a short time when my commanding officer was killed. I didn't enjoy it and left the city when a more capable person appeared. I'm not sure who holds these positions at present."

"The other of the two active councils, is the Protect and Defend initiates. This is a group lead by three people. One for Port Sarah, one for Teritha city, and then myself for the Stone Altar. We are mainly the recruiters for the army to protect Teritha and her peoples."

"The inactive council? Oh, well.. That's the King's office. Since the last legitimate heir died sometime ago, the council has led the city and all the affairs the King used to handle. Although there is always the possibility of an heir appearing, I somehow doubt the people would accept them."

"Well, off of our area I am not overly sure of what else is out there. I know of the Omperyan and their leader Tusiel, or general. Although I think he leads them better then their leaders do. They, I think, have a traditional King. I am unsure that Tusiel is the one to ask on that matter, he comes to the Stone Tavern on occasion."

"Oh yes, many interesting people come to The Stone Altar. I've seen demons, angels, elves, dragons, dwarves, orcs, nasty horses, Kind horses to I might add, and things I can't even begin to describe. In the forests their are centaurs and more reclusive creatures like nymphs and pixies.. and south there are a few hydra although recently their swamps were disturbed by something."

"I do not know what has become of all the organizations, aside from the Omperyan. Perhaps they have gone underground or elsewhere. Much like the barbarian tribes in the forest to the west of The Stone Altar, I assume they are too busy with their own affairs to truly bother us."

"I don't exactly know what The Stone Altar is. I remeber when I first found it.. The seven rings of stones sitting on a plain before a cliff. The Altar was cold and made of granite, a gentle moon hitting it all, giving it an eerie glow. I knew then that I would come back to it one day. It became my home. I still spend some nights sleeping on the stone of the Altar. Oh well, the Tavern itself has gotten busy lately."

"Yes, people here come from lands I have never heard of. I spent most of my life here and there in the military, but stationed at Teritha. I do not know muych beyond it's shores."

"Anyway, are there more questions you have?"
